All Rugs
A rug is the foundation of a room — it anchors furniture, defines zones in an open plan space and adds warmth and texture underfoot in a way nothing else can. Our edit spans natural fibres, wool blends, flatweaves and textured options chosen for their material quality, durability and ability to work across a range of interiors and room sizes. From large format living room rugs to smaller accent pieces, each one is selected for its longevity and the kind of understated character that makes a room feel layered and complete. If a room feels unfinished, a rug is almost always the missing piece.

For a small to medium living room, a 200x300cm rug works well, sized so at least the front legs of your sofa and chairs sit on it. For a more grounded, considered look, sizing up so the whole sofa and chairs sit fully on the rug (typically 250x350cm or 300x400cm, depending on your room) tends to work even better, as it anchors the whole seating area rather than just the edges. Both approaches work — the main thing to avoid is undersizing, since a rug that's too small can make a room feel more cramped rather than pulling it together.
For a queen bed, use a 250x350cm or 300x400cm rug, extending 60-70cm beyond each side and the foot of the bed. For a king bed, go up to 300x400cm or 350x450cm. For a single or double bed, a 200x300cm rug at the foot of the bed works well.
A flat weave or low-pile wool rug works best under a dining table, since it won't trap crumbs or catch chair legs the way a high-pile or shag rug can. Size it so the rug extends at least 60-70cm beyond the table on all sides, giving enough room for chairs to be pulled out while still sitting on the rug.
Wool and flat weave rugs are the best choice for high-traffic areas like hallways and living rooms, as they're naturally durable and handle daily foot traffic well. Lower-pile designs are easier to keep clean and less prone to flattening or wear over time compared to thicker, plush styles.
Yes, for rugs from our dedicated Outdoor Rugs range, which are made to handle sun and weather exposure. Our indoor rug ranges are not designed for outdoor conditions.
Yes, we recommend an underlay for all rugs, especially on hardwood or tiled floors. It stops the rug from slipping, adds cushioning underfoot, and extends the rug's lifespan by reducing friction against the floor.
Vacuum regularly on a low-suction setting, blot spills immediately with a clean cloth rather than rubbing, and have it professionally cleaned every 12-18 months. Avoid steam cleaners, as excess heat and moisture can damage the wool fibres.
